History
In 1974 the Assling Wildlife Park was built on the sun terrace of the Pustertal under the direction of Ing. Rudolf Diemling and Vinzenz Lukasser. The idea came from a recommendation from experts who examined the area for economic possibilities.
A game reserve was created on an area of 80,000m² of meadows and forests around Pedretscher Hof. Today more than 150 animals of approx, 35 individual species live here.
In 1994 the Assling Wildlife Park was taken over by Markus Lukasser. His big goal: a natural and species-appropriate approach to animal keeping. The expansion and reconstruction of various facilities, as a prerequisite for the keeping and conservation of some endangered animal species, was a project/an ambition of his.
Since 2018, the Assling Wildlife Park has been looked after and managed by the third generation oft he family, by Carmen Lukasser and her husband Johannes. Their plan to make the wildlife park even more attractive is not limited to it´s animal inhabitants. Playing in nature, the communication of knowledge and the close contact to animals should make a visit tot he park a fulfilling experience for all visitors.
We, the host family and our employees, always strive for the well-being of all animals and visitors. Through constant controls by the veterinary office, we offer our animal residents a home that exceeds the requirements of the Austrian Animal Welfare Act. For our visitors, we try to make their trip an unforgettable experience and very much hope that we will succeed!
